Donkeys are extremely friendly and hardworking animals. They were mainly bred to work, helping pull carts and heavy loads. Summer and Bethany are inseparable.

icon-eats Donkeys mainly feed on grass and other plants, because they are herbivores. We need to take care with their diet – at certain times of the year our grass can be too rich in sugar and they can literally overeat!
icon-lives There are more than 40 million donkeys in the world, mostly in underdeveloped countries, where they are used principally as draught or pack animals. Donkeys can have a hard life in some countries.
icon-breeds A male is called a jack and a female is a jenny. A young donkey is a foal.
icon-alert You may hear the familiar sound of eeeeyore! now and again on the farm. They are trying to tell you something – it may be because they don’y like being separated or they want to be outside! Summer and Bethany sometimes make appearances in churches and shopping centres as they have such lovely personalities.
